Khalti: Driving The New Era of Epayment in Nepal

Just after few months of launching in the market, Khalti became the winner of Google Business Group Storytelling Contest, a worldwide startup competition. As the winner, Khalti has earned an opportunity to get directly mentored by Google Payments at the headquarters in San Francisco.

Khalti was introduced in Nepali market on January 26 last year. In this short span of one year, Khalti has emerged as one of the most preferred mobile payment solutions in Nepal, allowing users to pay for mobile balance top up, pay electricity/water bills, DTH and internet bills, movie tickets, airline ticketing and more. Recently, its android app crossed 50 thousand downloads on Google Playstore. Khalti is approaching the milestone of 100,000 users that include users from Andriod App, iOS App and web.

According to Director of Khalti, Amit Agrawal, “Khalti also believes in community building and has been supporting many youth and IT events happening in various towns across Nepal.”

Khalti has also open sourced their SDK which enables Developers from different sectors to integrate with Khalti payment.

"On the occasion of CAN InfoTech 2018, Khalti is launching ‘Loyalty Points’ and ‘Refer & Earn’ offers which enable users to earn upto Rs 5000 by referring Khalti to their friends and family," said Agrawal.
